Amateur Radio
Operators are an essential part of Two Bicycles and a Map, LTD.
Over
the last 9 years, Hams have proven their weight in gold during our tours.
They pass messages about rider welfare, road hazards, changing weather
conditions, and assist with the coordination of rest stop supplies.
Communications are a key ingredient for our summer tours to run smoothly
and safely, so we can never have enough Amateur Radio Operator volunteers.
Time Commitment
Amateur Radio Operators may volunteer for a single day, multiple days or
the entire week of the tour. We invite operators from near and far
to participate during our tours, in fact, we have amateur radio operators
that come from as far away as Texas.

equipment requirements, contact Kathy KB9UAZ at

Terry, N9MUH, is teaching a technician class and also hosting a
testing session. The class is scheduled for Saturday February 21 2009. The class will be from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and will be held
at the Assembly of God church on State Highway 13 (west side of the
road) between Fifield and Park Falls. The test session will be at noon
and the VECs will be able test for all three license classes. The
testing fee is $15.00.
For those wanting study aids before the class I found free Power Point
presentations for the technician and general license and text study
guides for all three classes. They are available for download at---
http://www.hamradioinstructor.com/
If you know of anyone interested in the class and/or taking the test(s)
let them know about this opportunity.
And if you have any questions feel free to contact me, if I don't know
I will try to get an answer.
